FSubject Matter Expert (SME), Remedial Systems
Air Force Civil Engineer Center, Environmental
Restoration Technical Support Branch (AFCEC/CZTE)
Joint Base San Antonio – Lackland, TX

Dr. Glover’s technical expertise includes non-aqueous phase liquids (NAPL) and groundwater remediation, contaminant fate-and-transport modeling, and heterogeneous aquifer characterization. Dr. Glover has more than 35 years of experience including remediation of many complex plumes with high regulatory and public interest. He holds a Ph.D. and M.S. from Colorado School of Mines and a B.S. from Colorado State University.

Dr. Glover joined the Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC) in 2010 and was appointed the Air Force Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Remedial Systems in 2013. As the Restoration SME, he is the lead Air Force consultant for selection, development and optimization of environmental remediation systems. Recent work has focused on sites with high risk, complexity and cost, many having large contaminant plumes with variable geology and persistent NAPL sources. Dr. Glover also is active in technology demonstration/validation projects involving emerging contaminants, high-resolution site characterization, source zone remediation in fractured rock, and kilometer-scale transport processes in dilute plumes.

Before coming to the Air Force, Dr. Glover was a Principal Scientist for several consulting and remediation firms providing consulting services to private sector and governmental clients. He also served in the U.S. Geological Survey as a Principal Investigator and Groundwater Specialist for water supply, contamination and resources projects across the western United States. His research emphasized contaminant transport in fractured rock, water resources and water rights issues associated with stream-aquifer systems, and regional aquifer systems analysis.
