Insitu Chemical Degradation Of Petroleum Products

Remedial Action Completion In order to address the presence of free product at the Site, a plan was devised to perform injection and recovery of free product oil. Oil Spill Eater IIĀ® (OSEII) was utilized to breakdown/degrade the free product at the Site along the final injection of calcium peroxide/PersulfOx to provide additional degradation. A total of 3,600-gallons of OSEII was injected into the groundwater table at the Site, along with 330-gallons of calcium peroxide/PersulfOx. A total of 1,300-gallons of waste was pumped at the Site. Confirmatory sample results illustrate only minor exceedances of the residential Tier 1 inhalation SRO for benzo(a)pyrene remain at the Site. T Final soil sampling illustrated the reduction of TPH well below the soil attenuation limit. Observations of all injection and monitoring wells illustrated no free product other than a slight sheen on several wells.
