A New Alternative for Thermal Desorption Technique
This work aims to present the efficiency of the new technology developed for gas desorption technique. This technique was implanted in a site contaminated with organochlorine compounds in Brazil, whose results were very satisfactory in relation to the efficiency of the remediation as well as the reduction of costs detached with the technique. Results The technique implemented in Brazil reached a temperature ranging from 450ºC to 500ºC in the heating point using a gas consumption of 113 tons each quarter and, in this case, the use of electric energy would be used 456278 kW implying a significant reduction in operating costs. Conclusion At the site where the technique is being applied the system has demonstrated good efficiency with a gas consumption of 90 kg / m3 in an area of 260 m³.
