Dora Chiang, Ph.D., PE is the emerging contaminants technical strategy leader for CDM Smith. She holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and has over 25 years of experience in the areas of contaminated site investigation and remediation. She has worked collaboratively with clients to build understanding of emerging contaminants. Her expertise spans sampling, analysis, site investigation, treatment, site management, and long-term operations and maintenance. Dora has been principal investigator of multiple research and development projects to develop innovative treatment solutions for emerging contaminants 1,4-dioxane and fluorinated chemicals. She was the invited editor for Remediation Journal special issues on 1,4-dioxane (Winter 2016), PFAS (spring 2018) and Current Pollution Reports special issue on emerging contaminants (to be published in 2019). Dora is also the Interstate Technology and Regulatory Council (ITRC) PFAS team training subgroup co-lead and an active member of PFAS remediation subgroup.
