Dave Thomas is a Senior Staff Environmental Engineer / Hydrogeologist with the Chevron Energy Technology Company in Perth, Australia and an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Western Australia. Dave joined Chevron in 2008 after 17 years as a consulting engineer with Golder Associates where he was a Principal and Manager of Environmental Services in Perth and an accredited Contaminated Sites Auditor for the State of Western Australia.
Dave is a recognized subject matter expert within Chevron and more broadly within the international professional community in the field of environmental site assessment, risk management and remediation of contaminated soil, sediment and groundwater. In 2013, Dave was Appointed Chairman of the Light Non-Aqueous Phase Liquids Forum for the National Cooperative Research Centre for Contamination and Remediation of the Environment (CRC Care). From 2007 to 2012, Dave was appointed by the Minister for the Environment in Western Australia to the Contaminated Sites Committee, which is the five-person State legal body tasked with assigning responsibility for remediation of contaminated sites with multiple potentially responsible parties. Dave has a proven track record for creating and developing novel technologies in the environmental industry with six Patents issued and eight Patents pending.
